We purchase and maintain instruments, provide 1:1 instruction and specialized coaching for students, cover the cost of transportation and registration fees to music events, and pay for new music and supplies for the band and orchestra classrooms.

FORESMA is dedicated to ensuring our kids receive a robust music education and one that is accessible regardless of financial ability. We raise money to ensure every student has a holistic music experience, one that enriches their overall lives and education, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Your donations will directly support the following:

  • Participation in regional festivals, parades and competitions 

  • Purchase and maintenance of musical instruments 

  • Professional small-group instruction and instrument coaching

  • Jazz Band instructional support

  • Expansion of the sheet music library with modern music, keeping kids engaged

All of the above adds up to an annual  budget of $40,000, closing the funding gap between the program needs and Seattle School District funding support. Your donations will allow us to continue providing this enrichment for our kids. Thank you!

Attend one of our dine-out fundraising events and support the business community that supports us! These businesses donate a portion of the sales directly back to FORESMA.

Spirit Wear Sales

Anytime is a good time to order spirit wear! We receive 12% commission on all purchases through our on-line store . Adult and children sizes available as well as accessories: water bottles, re-usable tote bags, stadium seats and more... click on the link to see our entire selection - we have some new items this year. Direct Ask Campaign (in Spring): Build for the Future

Donate directly as part of our direct ask campaign in the spring, at the end of March, which helps us ‘build for the future’ to maintain quality music programming for music students now and in future years. Click here to donate to the 2025 Fund Drive.

Direct Contributions

100% of direct-contribution donations go directly to our music program (minus credit card service fees). Program fees and donations are tax-deductible. Direct contributions can be made anytime:

  • Attend a concert and bring your appetite— we sell Banh Mi sandwiches, baked goods and drinks. All proceeds from these sales go directly back into the RESMS music program.

FORESMA 501(c)3 information

Direct Donations and Program Fees are tax deductible. For corporate matching, you might need to provide FORESMA’s determination of non-profit status from the IRS, which includes our tax ID number: 85-0580106

At the beginning of year year, we request a program fee for each student in the music program. If the fee is beyond your means, it will not preclude you from participating. Or if you have the means, you can sponsor another student. Deadline is Oct. 31.
